There are a pair of these brackets which are identical... the majority of the construction is made from cast aluminum. the chain is attatched to the location on the body where the cable connects to hold the seat bottom from flipping all the way forward ( the cable is now only used when the seat is flipped for cargo, it is detached any other time, the kit included S hooks to be installed at the end of the cables for quick hook up/disconnect) the chain when folding out the seat bottom pulls out the portion of the bracket to help support the seat in the bed position...... I still hve to scan the instructions..... it will make it clearer... I will scan the english portion of the instructions and the accompanying drawings this week if interested in those also just reply to me........ Todd Daley 71 Squareback 71 Fastback
